Chicago Board Of Trade Biuilding
The Chicago is a land of buildings with so many buildings of historic and classical importance. Among them there are many skyscrapers who really take the breath away from its viewers and the tourists keep loitering around them like honey bees. One such building is the Chicago Board of Trade Building, which was added in the National Historic Landmark on 2nd June 1978. The greatness of this place did not stop at this point it formed part of the National Register of Historic Places on 16th June 1978.
This great building is located in the near vicinity of LaSalle Street. The famous architect who made this place a reality were Holabird and Root who gave such a beautiful design to this place that it became a golden figure in the pages of history and has become a real asset to the city of Chicago. The building stands tall to the height of 605 feet. The building was clad in Indian Gray limestone. The building was designed for the purpose of housing the Chicago Board of Trade. The building thus has not been having his first tenants from this trade. The first tenants of this place were the Quaker Oats Company and after this company vacated the place it was officially handed over to the Chicago Board of Trade.
The building remained in its original shape till 2005. A major renovation of the place was done in 2005. A huge amount of 20 million dollars was spent to carry out the renovation of the said place.
